Seniors to Visit Dead Sea Scrolls

On Thursday, November 20 senior adults will travel to Raleigh to see the most remarkable archeological discovery of the twentieth century. They will visit the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and view the Dead Sea Scrolls. This educational event is made possible through a generous grant from the Duke Endowment.

Hurricane Ike Relief

Bishop Gwinn asks pastors to receive a special offering, either this Sunday, or at a Christmas offering, or at some time before the end of the year for relief of Hurricane Ike victims in Texas.

Closing Out the Year

How is my congregation doing on its connectional giving?

Is there someone in your church who feels God may be calling them into ordained ministry? Have them consider the steps into the candidacy process.

All churches are asked to complete an audit of the financial records. For guidance please consult the Audit Guide for Local Churches published by the General Committee on Finance and Administration.

By now all congregations should have their Safe Sanctuaries policy in place. If you need help in completing yours, please contact Sue Ellen Nicholson at the Methodist Building (800 849-4433.)

1K for 1 Kid

The Methodist Home for Children  is encouraging our churches to raise $1,000 for one kid. Does your church want to be in mission to disadvantaged youth? Here's a great way to do the work of Christ in the world. Thanks to Pikeville and Sauston UMC for following through on this commitment.
